Banana Cake for a Birthday

We decided to make a birthday cake for our friend Erilyn. Tommy had great fun in the kitchen and enjoyed measuring and mixing. The favourite part was breaking the eggs into the mixture and using the beater to mix them in.

Once the cake had cooled, we made some chocolate icing and iced the cake. Tommy loved the chocolate icing so much he licked the fork, bowl and anything else with left over chocolate on it!

Then we rung up Erilyn and invited her for morning tea. We had candles and enjoyed singing "Happy Birthday" - Tommy was even lucky enough to help Erilyn blow out all the candles!

The best part was enjoying a piece for morning tea.

Erilyn took the remaining cake home and it was hit with her hubby, Larry, too! "Best cake ever!" he said.
